First Vacation, Part One

A couple of weekends ago, Ronan got to experience his first vacation. We traveled ten hours in the car to Springfield, Missouri to celebrate my grandparent's 60th wedding anniversary.

We packed up the car bright and early on Thursday morning. While we were packing up the car, there was a hermit crab in our driveway right by our car. It was the weirdest thing. We both don't know where he came from, but it was an exciting start to our trip. Of course, I had to snap some pictures then we were on our way.

Ryan picked him up and moved him into the grass next to some dog food.

Now, I was REALLY nervous about our long drive up there and back considering we can barely go ten minutes in the car seat most days without a meltdown. However, Ronan did such a good job. We were so proud of him! It took a lot of entertaining though. :)

Ronan learned to play peek a boo. He would pull the blanket over his face and...

I would say "Peek a boo." He thought it was hilarious and it kept us entertained for at least five minutes here or there along the way.

So after ten hours in the car, we finally made it to the hotel and he was freed from his car seat while we unloaded the car.

So happy to be free!

On Friday, we took the boys to the Bass Pro Shop. Tim and Ryan looked at guns while my mom, sister and I took the boys to look at the different animals around the store.

Look! A fish!

We tried to get a good picture of the boys together, but you can see how well that went. Ronan wanted to look at the fish and Hunter wanted to play.

Ronan posing with the bear. He looks thrilled, doesn't he?

Not quite sure what they are looking at, but it must be interesting.

Another bear.

The fish wanted in the picture too. :)

I took lots of pictures so stay tuned for more...
